Iraqi troops seize key bridge in battle for Mosul

Iraqi government forces battling Islamic State militants have taken control of a main bridge over the Tigris (TYE-GRIS) river in the city of Mosul.

Mosul has served as the Islamic State's de-facto capital in Iraq since the terrorist group declared a caliphate in 2014.
