ICELAND CONSIDERS SUING ICELAND

Iceland has confirmed it is considering legal action against British supermarket Iceland over the European trademark of its name.

Some businesses on the island claim they're being prevented from promoting themselves with the use of the word 'Iceland' because of the supermarket's trademark.

A Chinese businesswoman has pleaded not guilty to charges of leading organised crime in Tanzania, in what is believed to be the world's biggest ever ivory trafficking case.

PROSECUTOR: IVORY QUEEN CASE 'UNPRECEDENTED'

The Chinese businesswoman nicknamed the 'Ivory Queen' has pleaded not guilty to two charges of ivory trafficking in Tanzania.

Yang Fenglan is accused of running a criminal racket, which allegedly trafficked almost 2000 kilograms of ivory since the year 2000. Her case will continue in October.

After the hearing, the state's prosecutor Faraja Nchimbi said the case was unprecedented.

EU police agency says Turkish nationals make up largest proportion of people smugglers under investigation

The European Union's police agency Europol reports the biggest proportion of people they list as suspected migrant smugglers are Turkish nationals.

It's estimated nearly 2 million people entered into the European Union last year alone - mainly smuggled on illegal boats across the Mediterranean.

ISSG reached "general understanding", but failed to revive Syrian truce

At the second meeting in New York the International Syria Support Group (or ISSG) has fail to revive Syrian truce . Moscow said a "general understanding" that terrorist shouldn't benefit from the crumbling ceasefire was reached. BORIS: BREXIT TALKS TO START IN EARLY 2017

Formal Brexit negotiations are likely to begin in early 2017, according to UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson.

Mr Johnson says that's when the Article 50 letter which will start talks on the British departure from the European Union is likely to be introduced.

Downing Street says a decision on when to start the process will be up to the Prime Minister Theresa May.

But Boris Johnson, who campaigned for Brexit, says it doesn't mean the UK is shutting itself off from the rest of the continent.

Third night of protests in Charlotte, North Carolina

Protestors have taken to the streets of Charlotte North Carolina for a third night, with the man who was shot by police during demonstrations has died from his injuries.

Across the country in Oklahoma, a police officer who shot an unarmed man in Tulsa has been charged with manslaughter.

In Charlotte, the family has viewed a video which the local police say shows their actions were justified.

Justin Bamberg is an attorney for the family of Keith Lamott Scott, who was killed by Charlotte police earlier in the week.

Sec. Kerry frustrated after talks with Russians on Syria

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is frustrated after he spoke with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and yet no deal was reached on how to move forward in Syria.

The Pentagon is also confirming that U.S. and Russian military officials spoke about how to make sure there are no accidents in the air above Syria, but also underscoring, these talks did not address the cessation of hostilities.

The Syrian military has announced a fresh offensive against what it describes as terrorist positions in Aleppo.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry says the process between Washington and Moscow is the only way forward.

Prosecutor Announces Manslaughter Charges Against Tulsa Officer

A prosecutor in the US state of Oklahoma has announced that the police officer who fatally shot an unarmed black man in Tulsa will face first degree manslaughter charges.

Terence Crutcher was shot dead by an officer who came across his vehicle stalled in the middle of the road.

Yahoo reveals size of 2014 hacking attack, blames "state-sponsored actor"
