Formal Brexit negotiations are likely to begin in early 2017, according to UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson.
Mr Johnson says that's when the Article 50 letter which will start talks on the British departure from the European Union is likely to be introduced.
Downing Street says a decision on when to start the process will be up to the Prime Minister Theresa May.
But Boris Johnson, who campaigned for Brexit, says it doesn't mean the UK is shutting itself off from the rest of the continent.
