Obama, Putin discuss Syrian Conflict on G20 sidelines

The US President and his Russian counterpart have met on sidelines of the G20 economic summit in China, Monday.

In their first face-to-face meeting since last year, Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin came together to discuss a number of issues - at the top, the ongoing crisis in Syria.

MAY: G20 ALLIES EXPRESS INTEREST IN NEW TRADE DEALS

UK Prime Minister Theresa May says several countries have expressed an interest in signing free trade deals with Britain following its vote to leave the European Union.

Speaking at the G20 summit in China she named India, Mexico, South Korea, Singapore and Australia as nations with which she discussed new arrangements.

However, Mrs May has rejected an Australian-style points-based immigration system for the UK post-Brexit.

This will put her on a collision course with some members of her own cabinet who campaigned for such a system ahead of the EU referendum.

Theresa May says immigration control will need to be balanced with the need to strike a favourable trade deal with the EU.

Japan warns HQs could leave Britain over Brexit

Japan says it could move its European head offices out of Britain as a result of Brexit, the term for Britain's exit from the European Union.

Several Japanese firms in areas such as car-making, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing have head offices in the UK and employ an estimated 140,000 workers in the country.

German far-right party beats Merkel's ruling CDU into third place in local elections

The ruling party in Germany lead by chancellor Angela Merkel has lost out in local elections to a far-right, anti-Islam party.

Mrs Merkel's CDU party came in third in elections in a northern German region behind the socialists, and then a group which holds a strong anti-immigration stance called the AfD.

Melbourne terror teen gets ten years

JAPAN WARNS UK OVER BREXIT

Japan says the country's companies with European headquarters in the UK may choose to move them if the Brexit process is not handled in a 'responsible manner'.

Japan's foreign ministry has compiled a report which warns firms may wish to leave the UK if European Union laws cease to apply in Britain.

Obama And May Discuss Brexit At G20

President Obama has been meeting with the new British Prime Minister Theresa May at the G20 summit in China.

Mother Teresa Proclaimed a Saint
