British man faces multiple life sentences for Malaysia child sex abuse

A British man is facing multiple life sentences after being found guilty of dozens of sex crimes against children as young as six-months in Malaysia...

It is believed Richard Huckle abused up to 200 children between 2006 and 2014 while doing voluntary work following a gap year.

Russia set to extend food import ban

Russia is expected to extend its ban on food imports from nations
including the United States, Canada and members of the European Union
until the end of 2017.

The embargo was introduced in 2014 after economic sanctions were
slapped on Russia after the annexation of Crimea.

2 dead in Los Angeles university shooting, police seek gunman

Two people have been killed in a shooting at the University of California.


A massive police search is underway for a gunman who struck on the campus in Los Angeles.


Students were ordered to lock themselves down inside the building and they're slowly being freed by police.

Massive emergency response after shooting in Los Angeles

Police in Los Angeles are searching for a gunman who reportedly shot two people on the campus of the University of California.


There's a massive police presence at the scene, and the entire UCLA campus has been locked down.

US death rate increases for first time in decade

The US death rate is ticking upwards.

Even factoring in an aging population, a new study from top health officials shows an increase for the first time in a decade.

Deaths caused by high blood pressure and stoke rose, as did deaths related to firearms and drug overdoses.

Pings Heard from EgyptAir Block Box

French investigators now confirm signals have been detected from an EgyptAir passenger jet that crashed into the Mediterranean Sea last month.

The "pings" were picked up from a French ship with special acoustic detection systems.

First baby born with Zika-related microcephaly in continental US


Hospital officials have confirmed that a baby girl has been born with the Zika virus-related defect microcephaly in the U.S. state of New Jersey.

This is the first known case of a baby born with Zika-related birth defects in the continental United States.

One other case was previously reported in Hawaii.

Oklahoma 'Taser error' ex-officer jailed for four years

A US ex-police officer who killed an unarmed black man has been sentenced to four years in prison in the state of Oklahoma.

Seventy four year-old Robert Bates said he mistakenly used his gun instead of his Taser when he killed forty-four year-old Eric Harris.

Inquests into 1974 Birmingham bombings to be re-opened

21 victims of a 1974 IRA pub bombing in the British city of  Birmingham are to have their inquests re-opened following the submission of new evidence.

Campaigners for the UK to leave the EU say a Brexit could create a "fairer, more humane" immigration system...

Vote Leave is calling for a points-based system, similar to Australia, arguing that free movement in the EU has hit public services in Britain.

World's Longest Rail Tunnel Opens in Switzerland

It took two decades to build, but what is now the world's longest and deepest train tunnel is set to be officially opened in Switzerland.
