UK NATIONAL NEWSPAPER TO CLOSE

Britain's newest daily national newspaper will close on Friday, just nine weeks after its launch.

The New Day's publishers Trinity Mirror say circulation was not as high as had been hoped.

The decision on New Day comes as Trinity Mirror reports a sharp slump in annual profit.

And Laith Khalaf from stockbrokers Hargreaves Lansdown says it was always going to be a challenge for New Day.
