Russia to build new military divisions in Western flank

New York To Hold Bowie Memorial Concert

New York City's Carnegie Hall will play host to a David Bowie tribute concert at the end of March.

The British musician died of cancer on Monday, at the age of 69, and tickets for the event have already sold out.

Venezuela's Supreme Court halts National Assembly

Venezuela's Supreme Court has ruled that all actions taken by the opposition-led National Assembly are null and void until it removes three legislators who the court had suspended after the December Parliamentary elections. 

The Supreme Court says there were allegations of irregularities in the appointments of these lawmakers.

REPORTS: US air strike destroys 'ISIS bank'

A US-led coalition air strike has destroyed a cash storage facility used by Islamic State extremists in the Iraqi city of Mosul, according to US defense officials.

Unnamed US military sources said some civilians may also have been caught up in Sunday's dawn operation.

Most Istanbul blast victims said to be German

The Turkish government has said that most of the people who died in a suicide bomb attack in Istanbul are from Germany.

Bowie Tributes Laid Outside New York Home

New Yorkers have been paying tribute to David Bowie, who has died of cancer at the age of 69.

The legendary British singer had called Manhattan's SoHo neighbourhood home since 1999, when he bought two penthouses on Lafayette Street with his wife Iman.

Flowers and candles are being laid outside the building, and these locals, coming to pay their respects, said Bowie's music and lifestyle had been a source of inspiration.

US wants more aid for starving Syrians

The United Nations has confirmed the first convoy of food aid has finally reached Madaya, the first trucks to deliver basic supplies since October.

Medicins sans Frontieres (Doctors without Borders) has described the situation in these beseiged towns as horrific, with many images of starving Syrians on social media.

US condemns attack on Baghdad mall

The U.S. is condemning the attack on the Baghdad mall which has left at least 18 dead.

Gunmen with the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack, which included a car bomb.

International aid arrives in besieged Syrian towns of Madaya, Foua, Kefraya

As the United Nations Security Council convenes in New York on Syria's humanitarian crisis, in Syria's besieged towns of Madaya, Foua and Kefraya, the first shipments of urgently needed humanitarian aid have finally arrived.


For months, tens of thousands of Syrian have been trapped in the areas under siege, and dozens have reportedly died from starvation.
