New Yorkers have been paying tribute to David Bowie, who has died of cancer at the age of 69.
The legendary British singer had called Manhattan's SoHo neighbourhood home since 1999, when he bought two penthouses on Lafayette Street with his wife Iman.
Flowers and candles are being laid outside the building, and these locals, coming to pay their respects, said Bowie's music and lifestyle had been a source of inspiration.
