NATO is holding an emergency meeting on Turkey's request to discuss its new role in combating Islamic State and the Kurdish PKK.
Ambassadors meeting in Brussels to discuss Turkey's military strategy after it began air strikes last week against Islamic State and the PKK which it considers a terror group.
NATO has welcomed Turkey's new role in the fight against ISIS and the country is now cooperating with the US to build a so-called "safe zone" in northern Syria where Islamic State still occupies large stretches of land.
But security expert at Carnegie Europe - Marc Pierini - says NATO members are likely to warn Turkey about destabilising the Kurdish peace process.
