1 DAY TO GO: UK ELECTION

Britain's political leaders are into their final day of campaigning ahead of a general election the Prime Minister says is on a 'knife edge'.

David Cameron's Conservatives and the opposition Labour Party led by Ed Miliband remain neck and neck in most polls.

If there is another hung parliament both men may have a chance to try and put together a coalition government.

Alternatively, one of the parties may attempt to govern in minority - raising the chances of another election this year.

All eyes remain on the Scottish Nationalists, the SNP, who are expected to win a swathe of Westminster seats.

Political reporter Theo Usherwood says in many ways, the campaign is already over.
