White House: "Too early to say" whether IS was behind Dallas attack

The White House says it's "too early to say" whether Islamic State was involved in any way with the attempted attack on an art competition in Texas on Sunday.

IS is claiming responsibility for a foiled attempt by two gunmen to attack the event, where a contest was underway to depict the prophet Mohammed.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest says investigations into the backgrounds of the two gunmen - Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi - are underway.
