Three Killed In Attack on UN Base in Mali

Three people have been killed and at least a dozen others injured
after a United Nations base in Mali came under attack.

The country has been rocked by violence in the last few days.

US marks 50 years of civil rights

The Obama administration is renewing the call for opportunity for all Americans on the 50th anniversary of "Bloody Sunday" when the police used deadly force against peaceful demonstrators.

Earlier US President Barack Obama participated in a re-enactment of that march across the bridge in Selma Alabama - with some of the original participants including Representative John Lewis at his side.

Niger and Chad join attacks on Boko Haram in Nigeria

INTRO:  Nigeria's military has confirmed that forces from Niger and Chad have joined the offensive against the Boko Haram extremist group within the border of Nigeria. Ground and air offensives by forces from Niger and Chad have targeted militants in Borno State in North Eastern Nigeria, where suicide bomb attacks have left at least 54 people dead in the past few days. Boko Haram's leader has reportedly also sworn allegiance to the Islamic State. Gary Alfonso reports.

Republican presidential hopefuls gather in Iowa

Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie were among the Republican presidential hopefuls who spoke at the Iowa Agriculture Summit in Des Moines on Saturday. The gathering was hosted by Iowa farm multimillionaire Bruce Rastetter who queried the potential candidates about issues likely to dominate the 2016 campaign, ranging from energy to international trade.

Bill Clinton remains mum on Hillary Clinton e-mail issues

Former US President Bill Clinton says he won't wade into the controversy over his wife's decision to set up private e-mail servers for her correspondence when she was Secretary of State.


Mrs. Clinton is coming under intense fire from Republicans, who are demanding to know whether she's now handed all her e-mail over to the State Department for review.

New Report Shows Demographics of Islamic State Twitter Users


An analysis of how the Islamic State uses Twitter estimates at least 46 thousand Twitter accounts are held and used by the group’s supporters. 

The study provides a demographic snapshot of the Islamic State's  users on the social networking platform.

Obama Says US Civil Rights Struggle Continues

President Barack Obama has described the struggle for equal treatment under the law as today's major focus for the continuing civil rights struggle.

US to mark 50 years of Selma march

U.S. President Barack Obama is set to travel to Selma, Alabama to mark the 50th anniversary of the march across the bridge in favor of voting rights for all.

The footage of "Bloody Sunday" - when local police turned on the peaceful marchers - marked a turning point in the fight for civil rights for all in America.

David Cameron refuses TV debates, broadcasters say they will "empty chair" him

Kerry To Discuss Iran Nuclear Talks in Paris

Germany passes female boardroom quota

UN condemn Islamic State "cultural cleaning"

The United Nations has condemned the Islamic State's destruction and
bulldozing of the ancient city of Nimrud in Iraq, calling it "cultural

Four Police Officers Injured in Jerusalem Car Attack

Four police officers and a civilian are recovering from injuries they suffered in Jerusalem Friday in what authorities are calling a terrorist attack. 

A young Palestinian man rammed the victims with his car on a main highway, then left his vehicle carrying a knife.

Ex wife of Argentinian prosecutor says he was murdered


Independent experts hired by the family of Argentinian special prosecutor Alberto Nisman have concluded he was murdered.

Sandra Arroyo Salgado, a judge and the former wife of Mr. Nisman, said at a news conference that independent tests show her former husband had been killed, and that his body was moved after his death.

Woman who stole child 17 years ago gets bail

Unemployment rate in U.S. drops to 5.5%

The unemployment rate in the United States has fallen to 5.5% with
295,000 jobs added to the economy in February.

This report from the US Labor Department shows that unemployment is
now at six and-a-half year lows and could encourage the Federal
Reserve to raise interest rates as early as this summer.

EU ministers in Riga for Ukraine talks

EU foreign ministers are meeting in Riga, the capital of Latvia to discuss the crisis in Ukraine.
