Abbas describes Israeli Gaza war as "genocide"
Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas has described Israel's recent war in Gaza as "genocide."
In a speech to the UN General Assembly in New York, Mr Abbas called for a UN-backed timetable for Israel to withdraw from Palestinian land captured in the 1967 war.

Obama challenges world to improve its response to health threats
US President Barack Obama said combating the Ebola outbreak in West Africa is a top national security priority for the US - and said it needs to be a priority for the world.
Mr. Obama was speaking from the first annual Global Health Security Agenda Summit in Washington.
He outlined a three pronged strategy to improve the world's reaction to health threats - to prevent epidemics, to detect outbreaks early, and to respond to threats rapidly.
In his remarks, the President thanked South Korea, which will host the conference next year, and Japan, which will donate 500,000 pieces of protective gear to health workers in West Africa.
Barack Obama also challenged inventors around the world to design better health gear for workers, which the US hopes to fund and distribute in West Africa within the next few months.
Mr. Obama outlined his three point strategy to combat health threats.

Young woman kidnapped by Boko Haram in Nigeria found
Nigerian police have confirmed that a 20-year old woman found near the Cameroonian border was one of the girls kidnapped by the extremist Boko Haram group earlier this year.
Police are yet to confirm whether she escaped or was released by her captors. Boko Haram have killed hundred of people in North Eastern Nigeria over the past 3 years.
They abducted more than 200 school girls and women from the town of Chibok five months ago.

Hungary halts gas flows to Ukraine
Hungary has suspended its delivery of gas to Ukraine saying they expect hungarian demand to increase.
Along with Poland and Slovakia, Hungary has been using reverse flows to supply Ukraine after Russia halted it's gas exports to the country following a dispute over unpaid bills.

US Attorney General announces resignation
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has announced he is leaving the Obama administration.
