US Attorney General announces resignation

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has announced he is leaving the Obama administration.

The White House did not announce a new nominee, saying it will take as much time as it takes to find the right candidate.

As the nation's first African-American Attorney General, Eric Holder found himself repeatedly under fire from conservative Republicans, who claimed he disregarded the Constitution and repeatedly called for his sacking.

With President Obama accepting his resignation on a rainy Washington afternoon, Eric Holder thanked his colleagues and his family.

IN: "In the months....
OUT: ...outlast us all."
