Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas has described Israel's recent war in Gaza as "genocide."
In a speech to the UN General Assembly in New York, Mr Abbas called for a UN-backed timetable for Israel to withdraw from Palestinian land captured in the 1967 war.
Speaking through a translator, he described Israeli settlers as "racist and armed gangs," and lashed out at the recent Israeli offensive against Hamas.
