The Eiffel Tower has reopened after staff walked out on Monday over allegations that female employees were told to leave their posts during a private visit by a Hindu religious delegation.
The tower's operating company has acknowledged the group requested conditions that limited interactions with women, and says those conditions should never have been accepted.
Paris Mayor Emmanuel Gregoire has promised an investigation, while French Equality Minister Aurore Berge said women in France should not be asked to make themselves invisible.
