No US or Iranian strikes were reported overnight into Sunday, following US President Donald Trump's announcement on Saturday that he was cancelling a planned attack on Iran because the outlines of a deal had been agreed.
Tehran has disputed that account, with Iranian state media saying it was the American president who backed down — and giving no indication that Iran had asked for the strikes to be called off.
President Trump said any agreement would include the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and an end to what he called Iran's nuclear threat.
