The death toll from the catastrophic floods in Nepal and Tibet has risen to at least 392, with nearly 1,500 people still missing — more than 700 of them foreign nationals from two dozen countries.
The disaster was triggered on Wednesday when a glacier collapsed into a mountain river on the Nepal-Tibet border, sending a wall of ice, mud and water through villages and along river valleys.
Rescue teams are now in a race against time to reach survivors, but destroyed infrastructure and poor weather are severely hampering the effort.
