Myanmar's President Min Aung Hlaing is holding talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on Tuesday, with several bilateral agreements due to be signed covering defence, energy and infrastructure cooperation.
The visit is the former military leader's first trip to Moscow since taking office in April following elections widely criticised by the international community.
Russia has emerged as one of Myanmar's closest military partners, with reports that Moscow plans to deliver Su-30 fighter jets and Yak-130 training aircraft to Myanmar's armed forces.
