French President Emmanuel Macron and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have begun a two-day summit in Paris, appearing together on Sunday evening at the closing ceremony of the Esports World Cup at the Grand Palais.
The visit — the crown prince's first to France since 2023 — is expected to produce bilateral agreements on energy, transport and health, with the two leaders due to co-chair the inaugural Saudi-French Strategic Partnership Council on Monday.
The Elysée Palace says the leaders will also coordinate on Middle East security, including the war between the United States and Iran.
