India's National Security Adviser Ajit Doval has met Chinese Vice President Han Zheng in Beijing ahead of the twenty-fifth round of Special Representatives boundary talks on Tuesday.
The discussions come as both sides seek to resolve the standoff that began along their disputed frontier in 2020, with India saying peace along the border is a prerequisite for broader ties, while Beijing has pushed to move the relationship forward.
The talks are seen as crucial ahead of an expected visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to New Delhi for the BRICS summit next month.
