Congolese health officials are dramatically widening their search for undetected Ebola infections, a move they say will push the already alarming case count higher in the weeks ahead.
The World Health Organization's emergency committee is due to meet next Monday to assess the crisis, which involves the rare Bundibugyo strain — a variant for which no vaccine currently exists.
The international community has called for more funding as the outbreak outpaces the response.
