Canada has announced retaliatory tariffs on hundreds of American products, matching US duties dollar for dollar, after trade talks between the two neighbours collapsed last week.
The United States imposed fifty per cent tariffs on roughly twenty billion dollars' worth of Canadian goods after a deadline set by US President Donald Trump expired on Saturday.
Ottawa says it is deliberately targeting goods from states where voters backed the president.
