Iran's Revolutionary Guard says it has launched missiles and drones at 85 American military sites across Bahrain and Kuwait, with air raid sirens sounding in both countries early on Wednesday.
The strikes came in retaliation for a wave of more than 80 US military strikes on Iranian targets on Tuesday, including air defence systems, coastal radar and more than 60 Revolutionary Guard patrol boats in and around the Strait of Hormuz.
Washington has also reimposed sanctions on Iranian oil, revoking a concession it had made as part of a ceasefire agreement that has now effectively collapsed.
