Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Greenland's foreign minister have both firmly rejected US President Donald Trump's renewed demand for American control of the island, made at the NATO summit in Ankara on Tuesday.
President Trump declared Greenland should be controlled by the United States and threatened to withdraw all American troops from Europe if the continent continues to resist — but Frederiksen said the transfer is not going to happen, and Greenland's Mute Egede said the island's future is for its people alone to decide.
