Venezuela's official death toll from the earthquakes now stands at one thousand four hundred and thirty, with more than sixty-eight thousand nine hundred people reported missing.
The Venezuelan Red Cross has mobilised search and rescue teams and healthcare support, but the organisation's own headquarters has been damaged and its staff are among those affected by the disaster.
Hermione Elderton, a response officer at the British Red Cross, says the scale of the operation is immense.
