US AND IRAN AGREE 60-DAY ROADMAP AS TECHNICAL TALKS BEGIN IN SWITZERLAND

Technical talks between the United States and Iran have begun in Switzerland, a day after the two sides agreed a sixty-day roadmap towards a final deal on Tehran's nuclear programme, sanctions and other disputes.

US Vice President JD Vance, one of the lead American negotiators, has described the progress so far as a major milestone, while Iran's delegation — headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi — includes political, economic and legal experts.

But the talks face significant hurdles, with Tehran formally protesting what it calls serious violations of the agreement after US President Donald Trump issued threats against Iranian officials in a television interview on Sunday.
