The United Nations says a new cholera outbreak in Sudan's Kordofan region is worsening, with drone strikes on the city of El Obeid forcing the closure of medical facilities and water stations.
The outbreak was officially declared last Tuesday, barely three months after the previous epidemic — which infected more than 124,000 people and killed over 3,500 — was declared over.
The disease has now spread beyond West Kordofan into neighbouring North Kordofan state.
