France is enduring its most extreme heatwave on record, with the national average temperature expected to reach nearly 31 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, and at least 45 people have died.
Around 1,800 schools have been closed across the country because most lack air conditioning, and the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre in Paris have both shortened their opening hours.
