French prime minister holds heatwave meeting, Italy puts several cities on red heat alert

The French prime minister is convening a special meeting of ministers to discuss the government's response to the ongoing heatwave.

It's been a week of unseasonably hot temperatures, with 41 degrees Celsius expected in Bordeaux on Thursday.
