UK Finance Minister Warns of Iran War’s Economic Impact

The UK's Finance Minister has warned the economic impact of the Iran War could be 'significant' and announced that 'contingency planning for every eventuality' was underway.

This follows an emergency meeting of the government's crisis committee on Monday, which focused on the domestic economic situation as the conflict in the Middle East continues.

Speaking to MPs in Parliament on Tuesday, Chancellor Rachel Reeves noted that the war's full effect on the British economy was still uncertain, but pledged to support those who need help most if energy costs continue to rise.
