INTRO:
Health officials in the Democratic Republic of Congo say 24 people have died of measles across the country since the beginning of this year. Most victims are young children due to low vaccination coverage. The hardest-hit areas are in the country's east where an armed conflict has been raging between government forces and the M23 rebels since 2021.
