Two US National Guard troops are fighting for their lives, after being shot on Wednesday two blocks from the White House. Officials say a lone gunman is now in custody. US media is reporting that he is a 29-year-old Afghan national who immigrated on a special visa following the US withdrawal in 2021, although that hasn't been confirmed by officials. The shooting comes amid the contentious deployment of US troops in mainly Democratic cities. Toni Waterman has more.
