Famine has been confirmed in parts of Gaza for the first time
according to a United Nations backed agency.
The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification analysis says more
than half a million people are facing famine.
Aid agencies fear a military offensive in Gaza City will worsen the
humanitarian situation and members of the international community are
calling for a deescalation.
