Roman Polanski goes on trial in Paris on defamation charges

The filmmaker Roman Polanski faces a defamation trial on Tuesday in France for questioning sexual assault allegations about him made by British actress Charlotte Lewis.

It comes after he attributed a quote to Lewis in which she allegedly said "I wanted to be his mistress". The actress disputes the quote's accuracy.
