U.S says it will not support calls for a ceasefire

The United States says it does not support calls for an immediate
ceasefire in Gaza.
Speaking at the Security Council on Friday, the US' Deputy Ambassador
to the UN, Robert Wood reiterated his country's stance that it'll
remain focussed on diplomacy geared at getting more hostages released
and more aid flowing into Gaza.
The Security Council is set to vote on Friday late afternoon on a
draft resolution tabled by the UAE, which calls for an immediate
ceasefire.
As a permanent member the US has a veto vote in the council.
