Japan and US reaffirm ties in UN sideline meeting

Japan and the United States are reaffirming the importance of their alliance to maintain peace across the Taiwan Strait. 

Foreign ministers from the two countries have met on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York and say their relationship is more important than ever.
