American actress Jane Fonda is calling on U.N member states to
finalise a world treaty meant to protect and preserve vast areas of
the oceans.
Fonda has been attending the negotiation at the U.N headquarters in
New York on Tuesday.
After more than 15 years of formal and informal talks, this is
supposed to be the final and conclusive round of treaty negotiations.
Fonda told reporters the responsibility lies with all countries in the
world to protect the oceans and leave something behind for future
generations.
