UK ECONOMY GROWS IN NOVEMBER

The UK's economy unexpectedly grew by 0.1% in November, according to the latest data.

The Office for National Statistics says it was in part down to a strong showing by pubs and bars, during the World Cup.

ONS Director of Economic statistics Darren Morgan says the economy would have had to have contracted significantly in December for the UK to be described as in recession.
