Brazilian authorities say they've arrested more than one thousand two hundred people following the weekend's assault on government buildings including the country's Congress.
The events in Brasilia have been roundly condemned on the world stage, amid reports that allies of former US President Donald Trump may have offered former Brazilian President Jair Bolsanaro advice on how to pursue his claims that the country's recent election was rigged.
Sunday's events in Brasilia had echoes of the January 6th uprising in 2021 by Donald Trump's conspiracy theory-believing supporters.
