The United Nations' Special Rapporteur for the human rights situation in Myanmar says the world is failing the people of the violence-stricken southeast Asian country.
Speaking to journalists in Geneva, Tom Andrews said atrocities are being committed in Myanmar; he warned the human rights situation is worsening and said people are enduring "living hell."
Myanmar is currently under military rule following a 2021 coup. The nation's military leaders were subject to fresh international condemnation earlier this year when four pro-democracy activists were executed.
