EU unveils plans to add new hurdles for Russian visa applicants

The European Commission has unveiled plans to make travel to the EU more difficult for Russian citizens as Moscow's war in Ukraine continues.

The proposals, expected to be approved within days, include suspending a visa facilitation scheme with Moscow, and banning recognition of Russian passports issued in occupied regions of Ukraine.
