U.S. national security export controls on semiconductor and turbine technology

The U.S. is limiting the export of technology related to advanced semiconductors and turbines, in order to protect against what it calls 'nefarious military and commercial use'.

It comes at a time when the U.S. is ramping up its own production of semiconductors to better compete globally, in particular against China.
