UK political leaders have expressed their condolences after the assassination of former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe.
The sixty-seven-year-old died after being shot at a campaign event in the southern city of Nara.
The two countries both have relatively strict gun control laws, meaning shootings of this nature are extremely rare.
