FDA approves Pfizer pill for at-risk Covid patients, while White House confirms a positive case on VP's team

The US Food and Drug Administration has approved the first antiviral pill for the treatment of at-risk Covid-19 patients.

Manufactured by Pfizer, President Biden said the US hopes to make 250,000 initial courses of the drug available to American patients as early as next month.

The FDA urged Americans not to view the therapeutic as an alternative to vaccines, but the White House is calling the drug a turning point in the battle with Covid-19.
