Belarussian airliner barred from EU skies and sent back to Minsk

A Belarussian airliner has been refused entry into European Union airspace after new rules came into force blocking the country's flag carrier from flying in the EU.

The flight, which was bound for Spain, was sent back to its departure airport after circling for several hours outside the EU's borders.
