A number of U.S. states are loosening coronavirus restrictions, amid a pick-up in the pace of vaccinations and a slowing of the spread.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has also recommended the return to school for elementary-age school children.
But experts are warning more contagious mutations of the disease could undermine the drop in cases.
