ENERGY EXPORTS LESS THAN HALF OF ALL RUSSIAN EXPORTS, FOR FIRST TIME IN TWO DECADES

Less than half of Russia's total exports in 2020 came from energy — a first for two decades.

Coal, oil and gas exports accounted for just 49.6% of all exports -- hampered by very low oil prices at the beginning of the year.

But overall, Russia's total exports exceeded 100 billion dollars, beating more pessimistic forecasts from earlier in the year as energy prices recovered.
