US Democrats have accused former President Donald Trump of knowingly
encouraging a violent, armed insurrection of the US Capitol building -
stoking it for months ahead of the January attack.
On day two of his second impeachment trial Democrats have again shown
graphic footage of the riot.
The videos included police officers rushing lawmakers - including the
vice president Mike Pence - away from the approaching mob who were
searching for them, with plans to assassinate them.
And they played police radio traffic, with officers begging for
reinforcements as rioters stormed the Capitol building.

Representative Madeleine Dean squarely blamed the former president for the riot.
