The United Nations has also weighed in on Wednesday's violence in Washington D.C., with the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres issuing a statement saying he was saddened by the events that unfolded at the US Capitol.
Speaking to reporters Thursday, the Secretary-General's spokesperson Stephane Dujarric conveyed the UN chief's concerns.
